Artist in Residence



Karl Green is an interdisciplinary performing artist who strives to create work that explores the intrinsic complexities of humanity and the world around him,  while centering community and healing. He is a pianist, writer, director, and actor. He has been curiously finding the intricate connections between story-telling and empowerment, using various mediums, such as theater, dance, photography, painting, and music.

Karl received his Bachelor of Fine Arts in Acting with honors from New York University (NYU) Tisch School of the Arts, where he was awarded the 2019 NYU Drama Outstanding Achievement Award and was NYU's nominee for the Princess Grace Award. He has studied internationally at the Shanghai Theatre Academy in Shanghai, China and has performed as an artist-in-residence at Villa La Pietra in Florence, Italy.

Karl has originated roles in the Off-Broadway, world premieres of: Eve’s Song by Patricia Ione Lloyd (The Public Theater);  Socrates by Tim Blake Nelson (The Public Theater); runboyrun by Mfoniso Udofia (New York Theatre Workshop); and numerous regional theater productions at Signature Theater in Washington, D.C.
He is currently pursuing his Master of Fine Arts at Yale School of Drama.
